Contribute to school database

School and program information is massive and disorganized on the internet. In fact consultants spend a large portion of time to collect the program application information through different school websites.

Walnut is providing a collaborative school database for the professional platform users to share information.

Under each content in the school database the author and timestamp is labeled. The content that has been interacted most by users are ranked higher.

Contents you created can be reviewed under My Contents tab on the nav bar. You may delete or modify the content before the content has been used to create a lower hierarchy content, added to favors or ordered.

School

You can create a new school by accessing the add a new one here link on the School List page or the links in other forms.

A school has required attributes of School Name, Country, State and City.

It’s also encouraged that you fill out the accurate information of Alias, Website, term system and school category. Leave it blank if you are not sure.

Program

You can create a new program by clicking the add a new one here link on the program List page.

A program has the following required attributes:

Major Name: if you didn’t find the Major in the dropdown list, you can also manually add a new Major

Degree: Bachelor, Master, PhD, High School, Associate, Certificate

Application

You can create a new application by accessing the add a new one here link on the Program List page.

A application has the following required attributes:

Term: different term may have different application requirement, please double check before you enter the information

Enrollment Type: standard or transfer

Application Info

You can create a new application info by accessing the add a new one here link on the Program Info List page.

A application info has required attributes of Application Deadline.

It’s also encouraged to fill out as many details as possible, leave blank if you are not sure.

Major ranking: numeric

Ranking category: popular ranking categories include US News Best Accounting Program, US News Best Engineering School, etc.

Application deadline: regular application deadline

Other deadlines: there are sometimes multiple deadlines to choose from when applying for colleges, EA, ED I, ED II, priority deadline, etc.

Credit requirement: some schools require applicants to complete certain credits to be qualified to apply. For example, the UC system requires transfer applicants to complete at least 60 semester (90 quarter) units of UC-transferable credit.

GPA requirement: some schools require applicants to achieve certain GPA to be qualified to apply. For example, the UC system requires freshman applicants to earn a GPA of 3.0 or better (3.4 if you’re a nonresident).

Prerequisite requirement: some programs require applicants to satisfy the equivalent of certain courses to be qualified to apply. For example, University of Michigan Ann Arbor’s Master of Accounting program requires Principles of Financial Accounting, Principles of Managerial Accounting, Intermediate Financial Accounting, Microeconomics, Statistics or Business Statistics.

Academic test requirement: AKA standardized test requirement, including but not limited to SAT/ACT/GRE/GMAT/LSAT/MCAT.

Language test requirement: usually for international applicants. Tests include but not limited to TOEFL/IELTS/DET.
