Works as on-call substitute teacher for K–12 students throughout the Lower Rio Grande Valley, Texas. Uses classroom management skills to resolve conflicts and keep the peace. Refers to the lesson plan and/or schedule left by a lead teacher and ensures that appropriate measures are taken to follow it. Ensure that classroom policies are handled according to the school’s guidelines, goals, and objectives.
Develops and delivers lessons for 7th & 8th grade students in U.S. History, Physical Science, and Apologetics. Collaborates with administration and parents to assess students’ needs and best routes for instruction. Utilizes Apologia, Summit Ministries, and Genevieve Foster curricula to chart instructional progress and facilitate student curiosity. Transitioned from Zoom-based instruction to in-person following COVID-related procedures and policies.
Assists high school and college students (1:1) to succeed in their writing and homework projects, regularly differentiating learning and delivery. Provides online tutoring and homework help for U.S. military families through the Department of Defense and Army Child and Youth Services. Specializes in providing high school and undergraduate instruction for English, essay writing, and Social Studies.
I walk students through the entire essay writing process, from brainstorming ideas to perfecting a final draft.
